That's the only caliber a 686 comes in, but you can shoot 38 spl through it.

Condition factors in on value like anything else, with that said, they can value high, what sellers get? I can only comment on my 686 purchases, I've had a few and the most I paid was $450 used and all were in like new condition.

Real life, between $425-$500 depending on shape and if you have the original box.

I don't mind it being dirty, I like to clean my guns so that doesn't bother me. Tag on it is $475... Just want to make sure that's fair

Actually I've never seen one, that would be one I'd want to keep, only for that reason.

BBGV:
98% 95% 90% 80%
$485 $360 $275 $225

Again crazy wrong values in that thing. Probably worth 5 times more at least.

What year book? And thats a big jump from 98-95%. Real world, mark it $475, take anything over $400 you're comfortable with. Books are a good starting place but Gunbroker is probably your best friend.

Current year book. Again just a base line. several SS guns in there seem to have a bigger drop from 98% to 95% (I figured has to do with the SS).

I'll stick with guns closer to my heart (dark and disturbing).

Gunbroker can be useful, but some prices are way out of wack. $1700+ for a Glock 22 (Mass. compliant)?????

I sold two of them in the last year or so. A 6" and a 4". I sold the 6" for $475 and the 4" for $500. Both were in very, very nice shape. I didn't have the box for either one.

The problem is that the BBGV is what reasonable people pay...but nothing stops people from charging five times more, and nothing stops the other people from spending that much money on it.

There's still a lot of people who pay $600 for a new Glock 19, too.

Amen brother. MSRP is $649, so $600 is a deal.

Know anybody in the market for a Custom Rossi?;)

The 686-1 was made in 1986. It had the radius stud package and floating hand.

Yup, here's one you can get for about $650.

I think S&W did a few LE contracts for the 686 but did'nt want the high power .357 round, just a guess. They also did some in the 586 (same gun in blue) pre-lock that I would give my left nut for. ;)

I want to jump on the know it all band wagon, too. Let's not forget about the recall that 686 no dash, and 686-1 have.
