So far there are only 2 events in michigan. Do they plan on adding more or is this it? I am hoping for one in mid summer. Thanks!

And will any of these events incorporate actually long range shooting? i.e. well past 100 yards into the 300+ territory?

Just seems that shooting at 25 meters with reduced size targets doesn't quite cover ALL the aspects of long range shooting.

Big plans are in the works for Michigan this year. We are trying to get the I's dotted and the T's crossed. Stay tuned. 2011 is going to be our breakout year. Rest assured there will be several shoots this summer. Intheburbs will post more when appropriate.
Thank you for your interest.

Besides the 2 at Lapeer, we have 7 more events "penciled in," but some paperwork still needs to be finished before we can put them on the official schedule. Everything should be official by early-mid January.

Lapeer will probably give us some time on their 200-yard range for those two events.

Regarding locations, here's a teaser: Go check out the 2011 calendar for Centerline of Calhoun (http://www.centerlineofcalhoun.org/files/2011_Calendar.pdf)outside of Battle Creek. :brow:

ETA: Joey, we're incorporating a lot more long-distance (known distance as we call it) into our course of instruction. The last event at Lapeer we were shooting steel at 200 yards for anyone who wanted to. The instructors had AR's and a Garand for anyone to try. Wherever possible, we're making KD a permanent part of our Sunday instruction, but as I'm sure you know, not all ranges have ranges at those kinds of distances.

I need to get to one of the events. I bought a rifle for it last spring, but can never seem to get the time to go.

I don't mean to sound like this is going to but

There are times when one must just GO!!

Just DO IT! (that phrase sounds familiar) Come with an open mind ready to learn something new and you will have a great time.

Joe, I think their "Camp Perry" shoots span the distances you are seeking. It's a bit of a drive. But not much farther than the others scheduled from your neck of the woods I THINK.

The Gibsonburg, OH location uses a 500-yard range. Also, check the schedule for New Philadelphia Ohio. Sometimes we have access to the 600 yard range and shoot a full distance AQT, with targets at 100, 200, 300 and 400 yards.

Hello everyone. I am also looking forward to the upcoming Appleseed events this year. I just got a small .22LR rifle that would be perfect to use at an Appleseed shooting event. Hope to see y'all there.

Have you signed up for a shoot yet? If so, which one? If not, why not?:poke:
