Its not an alaskan with that long of a barrel, tha alaskan series have 2.5" barrels. Most likely its a super redhawk, if thats the case i'd say around $500-650 depending on condition.

Yes, super redhawk sounds correct. It has the slightly darker finish. Real deep grey. I believe it is the same finish they put on the MK77 target models for some time.

Condition is like new. Is this the price range where most people start in the classifieds? In other words if I wanted to list it should I be in this range?

yup I think 500-650 is gonna be real close for a private sale. Gun shop would give you 250-325 area

I checked the BBGV (I know, I know, it's wrong)

Ruger Super Redhawk Stainless:
100% 98% 95% 90% 80%
$735 $650 $550 $450 $375
Add $50 for .454 Casull

Again the crazy wrong BBGV states the Alaskan was only 2 1/2" barrel

It's not worth any more then $250. I'll drop by later to take it off your hands before someone rips you off.

You look to be new here, so I'll say it. If you list on classifieds around BBGV they sell quick-ish if there's buyer looking for this particular gun. More specialized guns take longer to sell.

Others will ask for and take the BBGV,than double, triple or even quadruple the value because theirs in "unique" or "special." Those get bumped up for months or more, and don't seem to sell unless they find someone who has no idea what the true value is.

You can check gunbroker or gunsamerica but look at the guns that actually sell to people (not anonymous bidders with little or no feedback).

Your gun is not a common gun but you can find a buyer if you list it fairly and
are patient.

Wow, what a site. Thanks all. It will go into the classifieds soon. I checked gun broker and guns america. Seems the going rate is ±$600. You guys are must be spot on. Thanks again.
