I have a 10 yr old and want her to learn some basic gun safety, nothing at her school that I know of, wondered if anyone knows of anything public/locally I could take her to for knowledge.

I have a dvd about handgun safety but it's mainly safety at the range, she has watched that with me but it's not really kids oriented.

She has asked me a few times if she can learn to shoot, I told her when she was 14 we could talk about that. My gun is locked up unloaded in the safe which only me and my wife know the combo for, but in general I want her to learn and know not to mess with firearms at a friends or something etc.

If someone else tells her she listens and learns, if it's me (dad) she tunes out after about 30 seconds, but I do want her to learn about basic firearms safety.

My daughter is 10 and she shoots, She just got her 1st rifle a Marlin 795.

I got the DVD from NSSF. It have 3 videos on it. It's the same video we showed to the 7th grade class at Lincoln Middle school last summer.

She recites the 4 thing when you come across a gun outside the home.
