I look forward to this one every year! I will be there with my trusty M1 and my new (to me) K31 Swiss for the vintage match. This a great 100 yard walk-up match with friendly people and good competition. If I remember correctly, they also have club guns available for those without M1's? Call John or Don at the numbers above to find out.

See you on the line!

Garandpa,

Good to hear that you will be attending again this year. Be sure to bring a friend! And yes, we do have club rifles available for use!

Last year about the time of our "Frozen Chosin" match cabin fevor must have been raging!!! More than 50 shooters met at Linden and fired over 70 matches with many shooting 2 or 3 rifles. That was 4 full relays! A long but fruitfull day! It has been suggested that I remind all that our matches are always filled on a first come first served basis. To that end if you'd prefere an early relay or would like to shoot more than one rifle arrive early, plan to stay late and have a lot of fun shooting!

Batman, thanks for the heads up! I'll be cooking up some extra chili for all to enjoy as well. For the CMP Snipers, keep an eye on this thread, I just may throw out a new twist for this match.

Batman, thanks for the heads up! I'll be cooking up some extra chili for all to enjoy as well. Your welcome. Now if you can just do something about the smell from the sewage treatment plant next door all would be good. Or just spice up the chili extra hot!!:naughty: ;)

Just for asking...any way to preregister? Some, like me, come quite a distance to attend!

To pre-register you can go to the all new, high speed low drag LSC web sight and then to the CMP page to down load the registraton form. Fill it out and mail in to the club PO Box with your payment. You can pre-register and be guarenteed a spot on line but actual firing points & relays are assigned on a first come basis. You will need to pray for a wind NOT from the SE. Can't help you with that one!!!

HTH,

The start of the 2011 CMP season is just two weeks away at Linden with our annual "Frozen Chosin" Korean War Memorial match. I do hope that many of you plan to attend. I've thought about this for a while and with the CMP adding a "Sniper" event this year at Perry I thought that we should do the same! I have arranged enough targets for up to twelve shooters, first come first served!

I'm bringing a friend too. He'll either be shooting my M1 or a club rifle. I'll be shooting my M1. It's an "as issued" 1939 model that can hold the ten ring (but I have to do my part right). I'm also bringing a Swiss K31 from 1940 that holds the black but I've never fired her in a match.

I have a range cart that started out in life as a welding cart, but has a digital camo paint job and I wear a blue cordura Creedmore hardback. I may or may not be in a WWII wool uniform, depending on the weather. Stop by and say hello.

Cleared snow from the last storm that passed thru this past weekend and I've got all the supplies for the chilli and coffee in the pantry. A few of us will be meeting up Sunday to put the tent up so all will be ready for the probabaly not so "Frozen Chosin" match. The forcast is sounding like about 40 degrees so you might consider hips boots over long johns. Going to be a great day on the range!!!

Hope to see you on line the 20th.

I don't think I can thank everyone who attended enough for making the trip to LSC and braving the in comming weather. The first three relays were the lucky ones while relay four caught the wind and snow. 45 shooters in all from Ohio, Indiana and all over Michigan took the time to join us today and fired 70 matches. Garands, Springfields, Carbines, Mausers, Enfields and AR's were all present. We even had a few sniper rifles on line. An awfull lot of hardware (CMP Medals) went home with the competitors today too and everyone seemed to enjoy the chilli and home made cookies, thanks Deb!!! As soon as possable I will post all of the scores from todays event.

A very special thanks to Steve!!! Every time I take this new to me 1917 to the line I will thank you again!

As always, great match and LSC lives up to its reputation as the Friendliest club in Michigan. I thought the snow might be a problem, but my K31 Swiss seemed to like it; I managed to fire a personal best 96 in slow prone with the big flakes all but obscuring the targets.
