I just bought a Wilson speed shoot for my 1911 - found one for sale. I swapped out my hammer spring and the top and bottom spring cup/holder and put it back together.

Problem is now the hammer feels like it takes twice as much force to cock it. I tested function of everything it all seems to work, It's just as if the hammer spring, with the top and bottom cups, is now too long.

Was this driver error or could it have something to do with the fact the original mainspring housing I removed was one of those springfield locking housings. Anyone know if any of the internal parts (e.g., the cups or the spring) are proprietary to the springfield locking mainspring housing?

Thanks in advance,

Lawrov

Are the springs the same weight?

Springfield ILS parts are proprietary to the ILS mainspring housing.
You will need to put standard 1911 parts into the Wilson housing.
