This is my personal review of the Glock 26--

I recently purchased the Glock 26 Gen 3 with the dual recoil spring. The reason for buying is purely concealment. For this reason i did not want to add any extended mag.

I was fairly nervous about buying this gun because of the small grip, and me being a big guy. (6'3 240lbs)
Let me start by saying the grip takes time to get use to.
After about 200 rounds my hands and mind adapted to the different grip and it became very comfortable. The recoil of the 9mm is very light and allows me to stay on target very easily. I am very pleased with the new recoil spring and i think it's a great upgrade.
I was worried about the 3.5 in barrel being inaccurate but i quickly realized that this gun is dead on. Any off-target shots where shooter error.
Currently i have around 1000 flawless rounds through this gun and i am very impressed with it.
Another plus for this gun is that it fits in all of my holsters that i use for my Glock 23 and 19 - Although i did purchase a Galco Skyops (IWB) holster for the 26. I have concealed this gun several times now with no problems. I even feel comfortable wearing just a tee shirt.

If your looking for a great conceal and carry gun i would highly recommend the Glock 26!

Yeah, I have a 26. It has been 100% reliable right out of the box. Great gun. I never had a problem with the grip.

'Willowofwisp'(member here) shoots in bullseye competitions with his G26 and does damn well. If someone is inaccurate with a 26, it's them not the gun. I think you picked a fine weapon. Congrats.

Thanks,

the glock 26 is an awesome shooting gun and easily capable of sub 1 inch groups at 15 yards and possibly further past that. most of my shooting is done at 50 feet and I can normally keep all of my shots in the 10 and x ring on a b27r target.

also to add, grip extensions are not needed, I normally shoot my 26 with a standard mag and sometimes a GAP plate.

I shoot IDPA with mine and it does just fine. Me, well not so much, I guess there are things called sights you are supposed to look at or something

6300 flawless rounds to date.

I have a G19 and a G26 and tend to carry the G26 most of the time.

I have the GAP floor plate on 2 of my mag's and really like them.

I use Shearer base pads/floor plates one my 10-rounders, but now mostly use the factory 12-rounders with the extended base pads. My reload for my G26 is always a 15-round Glock 19 mag. (But really, my G26 sits in the safe most of the time - I carry the G30 mostly these days.)

I don't like the short grip.

Nice choice in the G26. That's my primary EDC, for all the reasons you mentioned.

BTW, I recently got 2 G17 mags with the grip extension....and I prefer the 10rd mag. Just didn't feel right. For some reason, I shoot better w/ the short grip.

I'd like to shoot a G30 sometime.

Thanks for the review.

Looks like you found a keeper. A lot of firepower in a small package.

Agree. I have carried this gun for the last 5 months. I've carried it with the factory mag, a pearce grip mag extension, a G19 mag with the Add-a-grip filler.

Very concealable. In a supertuck holster it is very comfortable. I found that shooting it with the factory mag takes a little getting used to but after a few hundred rounds it feels natural.

The only thing that doesn't feel natural is drawing the gun (with the factory mag) from my holster. There just isn't much to grab on to and I still can't get used to it.

Great gun but as far as I know the 26 has always had a dual recoil spring (at least the half dozen or so I've owned???)

I too have alot of love for the 26. The 23 goes with 80% of the time but the 26 is the only other one that goes the other 20%

I bought one of these for my wife. the first time out she did not like the gun and I was indifferent. the 2nd time through after some training she fell in love with the gun and now its her favorite firearm. and she is dead on with it. I started comparing it to my other glocks and its size and accuracy makes it one of my favorites. I will be getting one for myself. Nice choice!

I am sooooo torn on what to buy: the Glock 19 or 26? Sounds like alot of people have both. I have guns to pocket carry (.38 snubby and LCP). I just want one of these for potentially extra firepower. And maybe those pocket guns will turn into back-ups. BUT I know that with the right mags, the 26 basically turns into a 19.

Gun-shop owners always ask me "will you put the pinky extension on it?" and I always say yes. Then they always look at me like it's a no-brainer to get the 19.

Do you agree with that?

The G26 is more comfortable to carry and the Pearce ext. is hardly noticable.

Thats good to know! I didn't know if one really carried different than the other (considering they aren't THAT different in size).

I'm just trying to avoid regretting which model I choose. $500 for a gun doesn't come around as much as it used to for me and I want to make a good decision.

I have the G27, the .40 cal brother of the G26, and I chose it over the G19/23 because I can always make the G27 bigger, but I couldn't make the G23 smaller (unless I chopped the grip...making it a G27). I carry it with the +1 extension on it 90% of the time, but I can also carry G23/22 mags in it or as a backup or carry with the flush, stock mag for extra concealment. The other thing to note is the +1 extension may add to the front strap...but not the backstrap, which can help conceal the gun.

The whole "can make it bigger, but not smaller" senario has almost completely changed my mind on the purchase. I was almost 80% sure that the 19 was going be the one for me, BUT I think I might have changed my mind. It seems like the 26 can literally act as two guns for the price of one.

Thanks for the feedback and keep it coming!

I like.that comparison as well.

I have both the 19 and 26, and I carry the 26 90% of the time.
Great gun.

I have a 19, 23,26, and 27. I carry the 27 mostly which is a little more snappy than the 26. I love how the 26 shoots. In addition I bought the loan wolf conversion for my 23 from 40 to 9mm. Just for the fun of it. I haven't used it in my 27 but it fits. The only reason I don't carry the 26 more is my wife does. She is small and doesn't find the kick bad at all. she shoots it extremely well.
