Well I just returned from shooting my new DPMS LR-308 AP4 and I am a happy guy.
I spent about 1 hour and 45 mins to shoot 25 rounds.
This is a NEW rifle and I wanted to break in the barrel as DPMS says you should.
All rounds were 1 at a time and the barrel was cleaned between shots.
Rifle:
DPMS AP4 Chambered in 7.62x51
Scope:
ATN 5x33LU with .308 BDC in ARMS mounts on top of YHM 1/2 risers.
I believe the dot in the middle of the cross hairs to be 1-1/2 MOA
Ammo:
168gr Match king projectiles
CCI LR BR primers
43gr 4064
Once fired RP Brass
Also fired some 150gr fmj US surplus from 1975
Conditions:
Shooting outside
Temp 12-18*F
CrossWind at 10-12 Mph
Light Snow
COLD http://freeemoticonsandsmileys.com/3D%20Smileys/3D%20Funny%20Smileys/lick%20ice.gif
I was using Gunzilla as a cleaning solvent after each round. I did notice that the Gunzilla became quite thick as it sat out in the cold. It never froze solid but I am not sure that it wouldn't if it was left out there longer.
The first rounds I fired were US military Surplus 150gr FMJ from 1975.
They all hit about 2 feet to the left of the target. After making a scope adjustment, this is what I got.
The shots in the pink and yellow circles are the Surplus ammo and I still had not fully adjusted the scope.

After I realized that I was now shooting on the paper I switched to the 168gr Match king Reloads. You can see my first group in the middle of the picture above.
I adjusted my scope and tried again. The results are below.
Considering the weather and the fact that the dot in my scope completely covers the red dot on the target, I don't think this is too bad. Remember I was stopping after EVERY shot to clean the barrel.

These were fired after I walked my out of shape rear end down there to check the target. Lets just say my breathing was not slow.

In the end I am VERY happy and I have no doubt that with some good match ammo and a warm sunny day I could bring those groups down.
