Why is it that no one has any long range stuff this time of year?

Because it's cold and you can't see the targets from the prone position because of all the snow...

Let's say your shooting 600 yards out..... Unless you have a snow machine you will have a hard time checking your hits.... I tend to shoot my 40x 22lr with peeps indoors during the winter!

WSC is still having monthly varmint practices. Might be a little more snow out there now.

Some are open, some are not. They don't advertise so you never know. You shooting prone with bipod?

So if the Wednesday practice is not open to the public then how would one get qualified for it?

The website shows next Sunday's varmint practice is open to public. Might be a challenge to tweak ballistic chart data to get actual rifle dope during varm practice. Typically only 5 shots at 200-300-400-500-600 on a 14" target and they're not using the 6' backer board. I was out there today clearing 12" of snow off the 200yd berm to lay my mat down. Shooters also spend time in the pits, marking targets. PM me at the end of March (or later) and I'll get you on the 600yd wednesday practice. If you want to shoot 300y, hit me up whenever.

eta: you have to be a guest of a member to get to 600y on wednesdays.

Will definitely hit you up in March. I am waiting on the cash to put the rifle back together

whats all this talk of 600 yards and stuff. i thought the OP was asking about long range shooting...

800, 900 and 1,000 yards is long range. anything less is medium range...

600 yds would be great and further would be lots more fun, but right now I would be happy with anything that is 300+.
