First thing is it a flat top AR if so you'll need two individual risers or one long one too bring it up a inch higher. This will give you enough height on the scope with quick detach rings to see thru it.
I would look at the Redfield line of scopes since Leopuld bought them out, especially the Accurange scope series. YHM makes individual 1inch long risers at an affordable price (Yankee Hill Machine).
I went this route with my Rock River Arms AR flat top that I owned with quick detach rings, always returned to zero and had room on the flat top for a rear sight.

Bushnell holosight serves me well.

I have a Bushmaster Flat top. I bought a Vortex strikefire. Great optic. 1 inch groups at 100 yards. Bought it from Amazon thru optics planet. Cost less than 200 shipped. Read the reviews think you'll like what u see.:assasin:

I had a vortex strikefire as well. I bought it from aimsurplus.com. It was decent, but I always had it turn on accidentally when my rifle was in a case. The button to turn it on is on the side. Anyway, it killed a lot of batteries!

I like my aimpoint PRO, I would recommend one. They are reasonably priced too.

I shot my friend's AR-15 with an EOTech on it and it was amazing. I don't remember the model , but I think it was the "516", it was nice, especially at 100yds or closer.

i just bought a lucid hd7 with 2x magnifier
have not taken it shooting yet but it is a quality product. pretty heavy but not bad.

i bought it because it has an auto brightness feature and uses a triple a battery
and of course it has got nothing but good reviews.

i was going to go with the primary arms one but they sold out the m4 style
so i went with this. its crisp and you can see it pointing it at direct light.

I would recommend a Simmons shotgun scope. A 1.5 - 5 X scope. I used this for several years for 3-gun matches.

Well if you have the cash an ACOG definitely would be sweet but for about 1/3 of the price of an ACOG you could get a Bushnell Halo sight or an Eotech. Either of those are a lot of fun to sight with also. Whatever you choose just get out and have fun. Good luck!

If your looking for low magnification, I have a Nikon Monarch 1-4x20 I'm looking to sell. Less than $200 including the right height rings.

I love my EOtech a little costly but worth it, However when i was in the marines we used acogs from trijicon the are expensive but work extremely well in low light and at ranges out to 500 meters with practice. Hope hat helps welcome to the world of the wonderful AR.

Doesnt seem to be a lot of aimpoint lovers here? If it were me i would look into a aimpoint comp ml2 or 3, if you are looing to go lighter T1 is top notch
