Greetings,

I'm a avid deer hunter and fisherman that enjoys the outdoors. I've been taking my kids out when I go hunting even though they are too young to shoot, (daughter's 7 and son is 9) they still enjoy coming out during small game season and sitting in a popup blind during deer season.

I just recently purchased a ruger p90 .45 for home protection and will be taking the CCW class in another month. I'm glad I found this board, I've been looking for something like this for about a month or so now so I can meet others that have the same passion for gun's as I do.

I've already let all my neighbors that are gun owners know. 1 of them is a member of the lapeersportsmen club and took me out there last night to shoot my new .45

He's talked me into joining the club but due to $ right now, I won't be joining for another couple months, getting my CCW is more important right now since I can go with him to shoot up there anytime I want.

Are there any other members in Oxford? With this small of a town, it seems like we would know each other if there are.

Howdy and Welcome, audit. You'll find plenty of advice, opinions and fun here. Nice place there, in Oxford, I had some sights installed at Tool Tech(?) Right by the Mickey D's on M-24. I'd doubt there more than one or two 'gun-nuts' out that way. You do live closer to the pit than a lot of us, if that's a plus.

Tool Tech is about 5 minutes away from me. I live off Lakeville road in the new section of the mobile home park.

The only bad thing I've found about living out here is the lack of quality hunting areas. Seems like everyone and their mother hunts off of Metamora road which makes it unsafe to me. I was almost shot twice back in that area so that's why I say it's not safe.

still trying to find a good area that I can get out to for deer season this yeat that I will feel safe enough to bring my son.

Forgive me for asking this but what is the pit and where is it located?

Welcome John...I'm not too far from you, I live outside of Romeo. The "pit" is a place over in Lapeer where folks go to shoot all sorts of interesting firearms. Check this thread to find out more====.http://www.mgouc.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10051

Ahh, right down the road from the drag strip. I used to run there when I was younger all the time.

It's about 20/25 minutes away from me.

Yep, good old "Lapeer International Dragway". I've ben there a few times, myself. So on the next outing to the pit, we can pick you up on the way. That is if you like making things go boom, and sometimes just disapear

Uh who's Kane and is this a bad thing?

Kane has a nice .50 cal that he lets us small cal. people shoot. I've heard stories of things going up in a ball of flames (amount other things) when he hits them. :cannon:
