This buck was from two season's ago. Last spring I found this buck dead in one of our creek. Half of the carcass was ate, so I dragged it out of the creek and left it alone to let the animals and bugs do their jobs.

Finally went back today with the g/f to grab it.

145" ?

Great 2's and 3's but hard to say with her arms out.

Too bad that one side was light.

Speaking of light, was that left to decompose in the shade? Antler color still looks mighty good, not bleached out at all.

I'm not sure what this buck would of scored. Mid 130's to low 140's I'm guessing.

I'll take a pic or two with our good digital camera later this evening.

When I found this buck last spring, half the rack was under the water in muck. I pulled it out and left the whole body in the tall, dead, grass. This grass grows quickly and thick in the spring/summer. That's the reason it's in good condition.

How I found it last spring. Almost Puked when I pulled it from the creek.

I am doing sort of a "seasoning" test on a head that was a bow kill in the fall of 09. It is sitting outside in a tree with a southern exposure.

Antlers are white like you might expect but, believe it or not, the skill is still sporting all the hide (or most of it). Lower jaw is still on.

I think what took place is that fact that it all dried down and is holding everything fairly well preserved considering the time.
