If any of you hard-charging devil dogs are interested, I'm planning to be HERE (http://www.mcleague.com/mdp/userpages/DOWNRIVER-71.php) on November 10th.

They always throw a good party with plenty of SOS, cake, beer, etc.

If anybody shows up and doesn't know who I am, I'll be the guy sitting down next to the engraved artillery shell that has my dad in it.

Hope to see some of you there!

Only one day to go!

Anybody is welcome to celebrate with us. You don't have to be a jarhead. ;)

Looks like the Marine Corps League web site is down. Probably due to all the increased traffic because of the birthday.

Here's a link with the address and phone number:

So, did the senior Marine there cut the birthday cake?
Remind me this year. I have a favor to ask.

Actually, the oldest and youngest Marines present get two of the first pieces of cake. The cutting is done by the presiding official.

We had two boys right out of basic training who were the youngest and we has two fellas who fought at Iwo Jima and Guadalcanal who were the oldest.

What's the favor? PM or e-mail me.
