My friend has been having coyote troubles down at the old farm, killed the emu a week or so back. I have a couple questions in regards to coyote hunting on private land in terms of damage control.

The DNR website under Fox & coyote says
Coyote may be taken on private property by a property owner or designee all year if they are doing or about to do damage on private property. A license or written permit is not needed.

Under their "nighttime raccoon and predator hunting" section it says
Coyote (DamageControl) Sept. 15 -Oct. 14 and March 1 -March 31 Only on private lands when doing or about to do damage; landowners and guests only; with game or predator call only; firearm may be loaded or arrow nocked only when using call.

then in the 2010 michigan hunting and trapping digest it says in the "raised platforms and tree stands" that Fox and coyote hunters are allowed to hunt from a raised platform or treestand from one half hour before sunrise to one half hour after sunset.

So im pretty confused. Keeping this in all terms of on private land. The DNR website says you can take coyote doing damage year round on private property with permission from the property owner (also stated in the notes on at the top of page 20 in the 2010MHTD) but are you allowed to hunt coyotes doing DAMAGE on YOUR property at night any time of the year? or is night time hunting limited to the specified nighttime hunting season and the damage control night-time hunting season? And also in terms of private property damage control during night-time hunting would it be legal to use a treestand for this purpose?

Any information would be greatly appreciated
