Does anyone have any idea if a Remington 870 stock will fit a JC Higgins Mod 20 12 ga shotgun?.
I need something a little longer than the one that's on there.

That JC Higgins model 20 is actually a High Standard model 200.
I doubt the Remington 870 stock would fit.
Was the original stock cut down?
If so, try gunpartscorp.com to see if they have one in standard length.
As a quick fix, you could add one of those slip on buttpads. Not the most attractive things, but it would add some length.

It looks too clean to have been cut down and you're right about the slip on pads, I don't like the looks. I got this gun from a friend at work and it was pretty rough shape. The stock is about four inches too short and because it was so clean under the old plate I wasn't sure if it was cut down or not. I checked gun parts corp and I think I'll just order one and see how it comes.
Thanks for the reply.

4' is a lot!
Standard length of pull on a field gun is about 13 1/2" measured from the buttplate to the trigger. Youth models are usually one inch shorter. If yours is 9 1/2" it was definately cut down.

That's what I was thinking. It sure was clean cut though.
At 6'2" I have a long length of pull and about 4" is what I would have to add the existing stock.
