Have not fished. Unless lots have changed-there will be lots of little ones.

Give A-1 Woods & Waters a call. They should be able to tell you what the people who are buying bait there are saying. 989-742-3878.

Thanks guys. Last year was our first at Fletchers, after years of pike fishing in the UP and we got a lot of nice pan fish but pan fish really are not our thing. This year I think I'm going to try and just bass and pike fish.

...Some of the best smallie action in the state, and some good Pike fishing is right here on Lake Skegemog. There is also a respectable Muskie population as well.Had one wash up on my front lawn a few years back.

Fletchers in the spring can be a great time! The weeds are still down and the pond has a cornucopia of species. One rule we always had when going to the pond was that you bought as many DareDevil type baits as you could down state at a good price because up there the had you by the short hairs!

We sort of got screwed last year because we had a 90 degree straight sunny week, unseasonably warm for that time of year. This caused the weeds to grow from nothing to top of the water in no time. Hopefully this year we won't have the high weeds like last year.

Yeah, and you can go through a LOT of lures. I got lucky and only lost a couple but my uncle lost probbaly 10. LOL

It's all relative. I have heard of people referring to England as being "Across the Pond".

I think all backed up streams are considered impoundment's or Ponds! The waters above the dam in Mio is called the Mio Pond and it runs for miles.

Over rated! Over Fished! There are way better lakes near there with more and bigger fish...

Yeah it's like almost 9,000 acres of water. It's definitely lake sized.

Thanks. I thought Fletcher's was the only place to fish in Michigan.

But for real. We enjoyed Fletchers last year and did not do too bad fishing wise.

I have not been up to Fletchers in probably close to 16 years. Had a couple good summers up there camping as a child though. Caught my first fish (largemouth) on an artificial lure in that lake. Hooked a couple of pike one year fishing rattle traps (i think) below the dam when the water was really high. I didn't know squat about fishing back in those days. Would love to go back one summer with what I know now.

Would fishing fletchers in a canoe be ok, or is there a lot of motorboat traffic?

When we go there is not much traffic. You'd be ok because not too many boats are going fast at all. If they are they'll probbaly hit a stup and be out of commission before they even get near you. LOL
