Prosecutors will decide if the shootings of three men suspected of breaking into a Detroit home were crimes or self-defense.

A homeowner shot and killed two of three men who allegedly tried to break into his east side home Thursday.

Police say three men, two adults and one juvenile, were breaking into multiple homes in the area. When they arrived at a home on Somerset, the homeowner was in the house and armed.

Investigators believe the man shot all three. Two of the men tried to get away in a car, but didn't get far before they died, Local 4 reported.

The 15-year-old teen stumbled away from the home and is in critical condition in St. John Hospital, according to Local 4.

Police are continuing the investigation.

Uhhh... hello? How is there any doubt that this was justified??

See, this is a good reason why we need that castle doctrine law where it prevents the home owner from any criminal or civil lawsuit.

Anybody who can hit 3 intruders- 2 with enough force to kill them, and make the third critical, is a very good shot under pressure.

In the journalist's investigations, they probably asked the DA's office if they were planning on charging the homeowner with a crime. As the investigation is not complete, they probably did not want to say one way or another. Probably said something along the lines of "we are still investigating the issue and will determine whether the homeowner will be charged at a further date." Pretty standard P.C. response.

So that becomes the biline for this article, shifting the focus of the article to sound as if the homeowner did something wrong and the BG's may have been innocent. Another example of why ethical journalism does not exist in this country anymore. =\

I sure hope the homeowner doesn't lose one second of sleep over the incident. And I agree that he was a very great shot under pressure. Pin a medal on him.
Good Shooting, Dave M.
