Hello there! just wondering if Gun store give guideline, seminars and orientation on responsible gun ownership? Or are they connected with some agencies regarding handling of guns. You see there are so much gun related problem that occur that does not relate to criminality. There's that little boy who had accidentally fired a gun to his brother, or the guard who accidentally fired a shot to his fellow guard when he was cleaning his pistol? With the rampant occurrence of these problem, gun selling should be regulated in any states. There should be strict policies and criteria to those who will procure ammunition.

First of all, let's make this clear. The gun shop is not responsible for your safety, you are. If you purchase a gun and ammo, you are assuming all responsibility and risk.

Regulating who trains who and what the criteria is for purchasing is done by the Federal Firearms License that is obtained by gun shops (individual sales laws vary by state), as long as the shop meets those criteria, and the purchaser is in compliance with local laws and regulations, a purchase can be made.

In my opinion, any child that is able to come in contact with a loaded weapon presents two issues. First, the adult who owned the gun was negligent in their ownership and moral requirement to keep the gun out of the childs hands. This is an incident that is sad, but the adult owner should have known better AND the child should have been educated about guns and told not to ever touch one without supervision.

Secondly, there is no such thing as a gun accident (I will get flamed here, I know it). An "accident" is an excuse for improper handling of a firearm. The gun didn't suddenly go off during cleaning, it was not unloaded by the owner. The owner also did not insure that the gun was pointed in a safe direction. This is called lack of attention and disregard for a firearm. There is no such thing as an "accident".

When you purchase a weapon if any type, be it a gun, a knife, or any item that can be used to kill someone such as a car, you are responsible for it's use, care, and safety.

We have become a society of those who would rather "take something away, or regulate it to death" than a society that takes responsibility for their actions. Think of it this way...someone drinks, drives, and kills someone with their car...do we ban cars? Do we blame the gasoline (ammunition)? No, we blame the driver, and rightly so. Cars are more deadly than guns...but I don't see any group of people marching in the streets to ban them or regulate them to death.

Who put you up to the two posts on this board?

If you want to restrict anything in the United States, then go through the correct immigration procedure, become a citizen and then use your vote.
