Muskies are a blast!

At first, I couldn't figure out what the attraction was, but once you catch one or two, you get hooked yourself.

My wife caught a 39 incher in Canada on a 5 1/2 foot Shakespeare Ladyfish!

I don't even know how she threw that big spinner bait with that rod. He it it, and was 2' out of the water a second later when he felt the hook.

On Sunday, September 27, Kyle Anderson of Rapid City, MI caught this 50-pound 8-ounce Great Lakes muskie. The fish is now the new Michigan state record. It beat the old record, set in 1984, by 2.5 pounds. Anderson was fishing in Torch Lake, near Traverse City. Unlike the *****stirrer, I can admit when I'm wrong.
Pic did look too good to be true, though.

Congratulations Nate, it might not be a keeper but it is still big enough to give a thrill and a good fight. I caught a twenty-four pounder last week near Harsens Island on a crawler harness and was amazed that we even got it into the boat.

That Torch Lake fish posted by Smokepole is spectacular!

24 lb. on a crawler harness that musta been fun! Lighter pole also?

Medium action pole with twenty pound Spider Wire and homemade harness of twenty-pound mono. Once the battle was finished, two hooks were utterly destroyed and dropped free from the harness before removing the last hook.

We were targeting walleye, but pike, small-mouths, perch, and musky ruled that day.
