I've never heard of "hunters clays". What's the difference between hunters & sporting clays?

Hunter's Clays is basically our version of 5-stand. A few months back we moved our 5-stand field closer to the clubhouse and made it much more shooter friendly. Some shooters are intimidated by 5-stand and we knew that we could attract more and especially newer shooters to the sport if it was where it would be more visible so the shooters in the clubhouse and they could see more shooters enjoying it.
We have 8 machines out on the Hunter's Clays course and from 1 to 5 shooters positioned in a stand similar to a trap line position. Each shooter in turn shoots at 5 targets from each of the 5 positions before changing to the next position to his right. Each shooter shoots at 3 single targets and then shoots at a simultaneous pair for the 4th and 5th targets. A complete round is 25 targets. You are allowed 2 shells in the gun and when shooting at the singles, you may fire both shells at them if necessary and will score a hit if the target is broken with either shot. For the shooter that want's more of a challenge, there is another level where the presentation of targets is 1 single followed by 2 set of doubles for the 5 targets from each position.
The trappers are friendly and helpfull and will give advise if needed by the shooter as to which target to take first on the doubles or on how to hit any of the targets if needed.
All 8 machines are reasonably close and most shooters shoot the field with skeet or I.C. chokes.
If you visited our website, you probably noticed our monthly drawing for prizes.
