Hello All:

I'm new to the forum, and I'm hoping someone can help me out here: I am a gun owner and CPL holder from Ohio who will be moving to Michigan shortly. Do I need to register my gun prior to moving? If so, what does that process involve? Are there any other steps I need to take to ensure compliance with state laws? Any advice would be appreciated!

As soon as you become a MI resident, you should register your firearms.

Know that as soon as you become a resident you will lose your ability to CC under your Ohio CPL, so you should apply for your MI CPL as soon as you become a resident, as well.
