not to say it's not a great light for the money... but the light output and run times are impossible for 3 aaa batteries.

Folks need to keep in mind that manufacturers can put what ever they want on the box. If it's not a ANSI tested, then it is just someone's estimate.

It's not that it won't run for four hours, it's that it won't be close to the 220 lumens stated. 80 lumens runs about 3 hours on three aaa batteries.

I to have one of these and it is part of my EDC.
I can't speak to how accurate the stated specs are but I can tell you that it is one bright light! I think a lot of it has to do with the projector style lens that it uses. I have an old light rated at 180 lumens and this one dose seam to be brighter.

And the beam is clear, crisp, and a true white. I have had a lot of flashlights in my time, some costing 3x as much as this little guy, and this is by far the best one I have ever had.

I have been carrying it with me for about 6 months now. Just put new batteries in it last week. I have dropped it many times, gotten it wet, and covered in dirt. It has held up to every thing I have put it threw and is still going strong!

I did pay about $10 more then the OP for mine but it was money well spent!

I can post some beam shots if any one wants as well.

Ok so i tested out the 220lumen 4hr run time and no im not sure if it really is 220 but since i cant test that ill take it from various reviews ive read from people who tested it against ANSI certified flashlights and around 90% say its about 160-190lumens which for $25 is still what i can a great deal. any who i took pics at each hour mark then. turned it off for 10mins to see how bright it would be after a little break from the 4hrs it was on. ok so im not sure how to post a pic in the reply so heres the url. its left to right 1hr through 4hr run time with the ten min break on bottom center. i guess 3 AAA run high for awhile and then keep running.https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&ik=cf3b12592e&view=att&th=131744a202d86c95&attid=0.1&disp=inline&zw

Got to actually play with one of these today in a store... They are pretty handy lights, light build on them which makes sense for the price point. My 80 lumen Surefire blew it away on brightness, so as I suspected, not even close to the 220 stated.

I would recommend these for back up lights that would be used in situations where you wouldn't care if it got smashed, lost or permanently borrowed.

So again to the people reading this thread i gave this review on a cheap yet decent flashlight for people who arent ready to spend a lot of money on a flashlight but i suppose if you want to you can just keep posting on how your $100+ flashlights are better then this $24 nebo and thats fine cause your right. but lets have a little common courtesy.
A couple questions was your surefire fully charged or new batterys, and did the nebo light you played with have fresh batterys. and lets not forget that that the cheapest surefire light is msrp $92. how much was yours? anyhow lets try to keep the reviews on products fair or at least say it was your opinion otherwise you might confuse people.

Maybe I should have been more clear on why I compared the brightness to a Surefire: Surefire actually spends time and money getting real world numbers for thier light outputs. So I picked my Surefire because I knew it was 80 lumens.

If you look at it from my point of view: I see people at the shop and at shows all the time show me their $20 light that has 250 lumens. Then I show them a light that is rated at half as much and it's brighter than theirs. These aren't $100 lights either. I typically pick a Jetbeam B10 which is under $40.

I do apologize if my comments seemed to attack your review as that was not my intent. My intent was to help folks make an informed decision about this light.

hey no problem man friendly banter lol. if anything our back and forth helped more people out then just my review, thats what makes mgo so great.
And just for fun i emailed nebo tools and asked them about the redline and they still say its 220 which i think is pretty funny.
