Local Ladies Learn The Carry Laws

Its not your typical ladies day out. But this group of church friends thought it was important.
Darcy Fulkerson : "recently we heard about the homeland incident where the gentleman with the concealed carry license was able to help out there so i think some of those things prompted us to want to get involved a little more and be more comfortable with our guns."
So they signed up for this women's only class to get a concealed carry permit.
Ryan Myers, Instructor: "its a good opportunity to get all of the ladies out together there's not a lot of stress, they don't have to worry about impressing anyone, they can go at their own pace, its less threatening.
Instructor Ryan Myers is certified by the national rifle association and he's been teaching classes like these for six years. He took the ladies through everything from gun laws, to safety measures to the proper stance. After six hours doing it by the book, the ladies came out to the range. And trust me you don't want to mess with them. All nine lined up, took aim and fired away.
Darcy Fulkerson : “the first time I shot one I was surprised at how much it kicks back and that was very surprising to do that again and each time we reloaded I felt that again but I did pretty good hitting my mark over there."
With a few instructions, even amateurs like me could hit the target. And some of these ladies were pretty good shots. Darcy Fulkerson says the important thing is she feels better about having a gun in her home and more comfortable using it, if she had to.
