Hey guys, I am starting to get some new gear and I was wondering if any of you guys had a great place to get some decently cheap tactical style shooting glasses. I am sick of the cheaply made ones and am looking for something that I could actually wear around town when I am carrying as well (once I get my CPL). I have looked around, but all the glasses I have found are super expensive and was just looking for some feedback.

Do I have to spend a lot of money to get good glasses or is there a brand or place that sells them that will not break the bank?

Thanks in advance guys, have a great day!

Figure about $100 for good glasses, especially if they have removable lenses and you get an extra set or two. There are some cheaper good options but you do start losing quality and style the cheaper you go.

I'm really like my Oakley M frames. I have three lenses for them, for varying lighting conditions. Definitely more then $100 for those, though. I don't really wear them around outside of shooting, though. I have more 'stylish' sunglasses for that.

I just wear the "Jake" style Wiley X's for everything. I think I paid around $90 or something...

EyeSights are great, and resonably priced.

I wear the P-17's from Wiley X. Love 'em. Shop around and you can find them for about $ 65.00 - $ 70.00. That being said, you did say you were on
a budget. You simply can not go wrong with these LE-300 from Peltor.
They are all day comfortable, stylish, and a great pair of shooting glasses. $ 20.00

Thanks guys for all the great input on glasses for shooting. Has anybody ever bought a pair of Bobster's? A friend just told me about them today, just not sure if they are any good....wanted to throw that out here. Let me know what you guys think, thanks again.

You may also want to consider these - especially if you have a need for prescription lenses.

I usually use my oakley half jackets... They were actually bought for riding my motorcycle but they double as a good pair of shooting glasses...

Love my eye-sights but I don't wear them around town. I've got much better looking ones for that job. Although, I have worn the shaded lens after a range day when I forgot my stylish ones at home. I didn't leave the truck though 8-)

Cheap and effective. If you shop around you can get them with multiple lenses for cheap. Not my auction, just giving you an example...
