Man gets probation for shooting neighbor's dog
KPHO News

TUCSON, Ariz. A Tucson man will spend three years on probation for shooting his neighbor's dog, but he says he'd do it again under the same circumstances.

Ralph Edwin Adamson shot at two dogs in October, wounding one so badly it had to be put to sleep.

The 50-year-old told the judge who sentenced him Friday that he had seen two pit bulls chasing someone down his street and shot in self-defense.

Prosecutors disagreed and charged him with four felonies, including endangering dog owner Tierra Grady, who says she was chasing her dogs to get them back in her yard.

Grady says it infuriates her that Adamson says he shot to protect someone. She says no one was in danger.

Adamson also was ordered to stay from the dog's owner and not to own guns.
