STI Spartan 1911??

I saw one at my gun shop today, its about $100 dollars more than the American Classic 1911 I was looking at. Anyone have any experience or history with this gun and like to share their information? Extra $100 worth it?

It would be my carry piece, I held it while I was at my gun shop today and I tell you what, it felt amazing in my hand. I absolutely love the front sight on it and when I raised it I found the front sight really easily which already gave me some confidence in it. The balance felt really good, the slide seemed real smooth, as did the trigger pull, which was a dream in itself. the fit was tight and I didnt hear any rattle. I think unless someone has anything bad to say about it, which I cannot find and Ive probably spent about 3 hours looking up everything I can about it tonight, it will be the next one I get.

I believe it's slide, barrel and frame are made by Armscor in the Philippines per STI spec. The parts kit is made by STI in Texas and it's slide fitted and everything assembled over there as well. Returned to Texas for QC check and distributed. STI in Texas warranty.

I've shot the 9mm and love it. Great pistol for the money, unfortunately not made here. Many, many good reviews posted on line...
