Michigan Open Carry has arranged for its members and members of Michigan Gun Owners to enjoy a free fun shoot. MOC and MGO have agreed to cover the costs of basic bulls eye targets. Any additional targets will be the responsibility of the shooters. Details are below:
When: Sunday October 16, 2011 5pm-8pm
Meet and Greet 5pm-6pm
Range time 6pm-8pm

Where: Close Quarters Tactical
50485 Utica Drive
Shelby Township, MI 48315

No steel core or steel case ammo allowed. Any caliber up to and including 50BMG. You may bring your own targets.

Paid members and immediate family are welcome, kids must be 12 and up. You can pay for a membership at this event for either MGO or MOC...why not both?

You have to be a paid member to shoot for free at this event. I just found this out. You will be able to sign up for a membership on sight. Witch would let you shoot. If you look at it in the fact that if you have to pay for the range time. It would cost you more then a membership.

I never got an answer in the last thread. Is this strictly for MGO and MOC paying members or is everybody allowed?

I am waiting to hear from Scott from MOC, He set most of this up. But this would be an awsome time for any one that is not a member to sign up.

So reading the update in the OP, it is still not clear,

scot623 quote says immediate family is welcome.

After that,

mopedman says you must be a payed member to shoot.

Is family only welcome to attend but need to become a MGO and/or MOC payed member before they can shoot?

Just want to be sure before I invite any family members what the deal is.

Only paid members of MOC and MGO are invited. Those who are paid members and choose to attend may bring their wife/significant other and children(12 and up) along to shoot.

I stand corrected. I will NOT be at this event with the new MGO hats. I mistook this for the Memorial Shoot at the Howell Gun Club this coming Saturday, Oct. 22.

I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused anyone.

Since they are allowing us to pay for a membership on site and then shoot I'm probably going to try attend.

I've been meaning to renew my membership after it expired and this will give me a reason to get off my butt and do it.

Does anyone know if QCT allows pistol caliber full-auto?

Just got home from the CQT free shoot. Had a blast. We only had 6 MGO members show up. It was a fun time to be had. Thanks CQT.

I had a great time, as always at any FTF event with MGO/MOC, all good people, great to see you guys that showed up!

Its a shame that more people did not show up, members are always asking for events to be moved around to different area's and when it is, it's only to find a low turn out and the same people that do show up usually do almost no matter where it is. ( on another thought, it's always good guys that show up and with a small number it is like it is your own personal range, so yea, the rest of you stay home j/k)

One of the benefits to getting to these events is that you get to check out places to shoot that you might go to on your own that are very cool, like Duncan's in Bay City, how many places have you been to that have an indoor under ground 50, 100, 200 yd. Range?

CQT in a nice, roomy, clean facility, a growing retail area, range equipment was in good order and target controller easy to use and range sign off is simple, unlike some ranges that make you feel like you are buying a house with the amount of information asked.

Something interesting to note about CQT is that it is much more then a range and retail area, it is a training facility with some unique features, an indoor live fire shoot house ( rated to .308 cal.)and a another large area that can be configured, using those cargo shipping containers to be able to set up a number of training environments using air soft or simunitions (sp).

And best of all, if you attend and pass their training course, you are qualified to use the shoot house and at a very reason rate if you want to.

Enough of of the infomercial, Big thanks to Scott, Rob, and anyone else who helped set this up, for all the members that setup events for the rest of us, thank you and please don't stop, don't let the lack of turn out discourage you.

Also thanks to Al for the tour of the place and I enjoyed talking with you.
