Does anybody know if the full choke on a 410 can be opened to say a modified or maybe IM?? Can it be done by lapping? Just curious.

Depends on a number of things, choke geometry is kind of complicated. A full choke on a .410 has a constriction of .018; IM is .014 and IC is .008.

If your shotgun is a fixed choke single barrel it might be easier to have it converted to screw-in chokes. Check out the Briley web site - www.briley.com (use IE) They charge $199 to thread a single barrel auto or pump with 3 chokes or $95 without the chokes.

I gotta ask, why would ya want to open up a .410 to begin with? With the shot string the way it is, it would seem that a more open choke with such a low pellet count would be a counter productive move.
