The web site to order kits for AR's and 1911"s
the prices are not to bad. It says you can build a compleat gun from their parts kits. No FFL dealer or paper work and no ser # on the gun and it is legal.
Check this site out and let me know what you think.

An 80% complete AR reciever will take considerable skill to complete, most people use a jig or fixture to locate the holes. Much harder than completing an AK reciever from a bent blank.

It's supposed to be legal but you can never sell it to anyone.

Maybe give it away to your heirs, but that's about it.

I'm not even sure that you can legally pass it on.
I was of the understanding that upon your death, these home made firearms were to be turned over t the BATFE for destruction.

It looks like http://www.ktordnance.com/kto/about.php may have fallen victim to the ATF. http://www.freemarketnews.com/Analysis/105/5239/2006-06-09.asp?wid=105&nid=5239
