Hey guys,

I came across an old remington 11-48 shotgun, 16 ga. I'm wondering about shooting slugs. I really don't know much about shot guns, so I thought I would ask here.

Thanks
Jeremy

You are just fine running slugs thru the recoil operated 11-48.

Do I have to be concerned with choke or anything? The barrel has Mod stamped on the side of it?

Thanks

Lighter chkes may work best with slugs but you shouldn`t have any trouble with a mod or full. I`d stick to forster style slugs and forgo the Brennecki(sp?) or sabots in it though

No on full choke unless you don't mind having a modified choke after you shoot it with a slug.

I have owned and loved the 1148 16g for 35+ years and it's ate everything I've ever put in the tube!

Great Shotgun in it's own right!!! Doesn't get the attention it deserves.

Thanks for all the input! It seems like a great gun. Seems to operate flawlessly. Thanks again.
