Starting Sept, 01 at day light my 2 sons 9 & 11 and I will be busting doves in Ohio.
That evening I most likely be busting geese at my place in Michigan.

I heard goose in a crock pot with peaches is quite tasty!

Goose is good several ways.

It even makes good jerky.

I just make my own jerkey with Hi Mountain seasoning according to the instructions. I use burger rather than whole muscle meat and just tweak it a bit with peppers.

No fancy recipe...just darned good eating. The only problem is finding fresh air the next day...goose is aweful in that department.

Do you guys have a preference for early or later squirrel.
I've been told they are much better to eat after they have been eating fall nuts for a while.
Any truth to that?

Early squirrels can be dumb squirrels and easy to kill if you can see them for the foliage.

I only hunt them with a .22/45 with a red dot as I hate cleaning the darned things.

This year, I am kinda hoping for a winter like last year, I have a pup that I wanna start on bushy tails so winter should be an easier time for that because of the snow.

Eating...I dunno....my palate apparently is not discerning enough to tell the difference.
