I just want to share the experience at Sheridan Arms yesterday.

After visiting another shop and being pretty much ridiculed for our selection of preferred firearms we made a nearly 2 hour trip up to Saginaw from Detroit.

I can't stress how great of a decision it was, by far one of the best shopping experiences ever.

We went looking for A Suppressor, an hour and a half later we walked out with 2 Suppressors ordered, two breaks, a new Pistol. Even when the bill was growing larger & the goodies were stacking up, Phil talked me off the beautiful 1919 he had (He could have easily sent it home with me) & because of that I'm pretty dead set on going back for that 1919 one day!!

Great guys, listened & offered up a lot of OPTIONS!!! which I can say a lot of the other shops don't. Where as other shops just want you to buy what they want you to buy, The guys at Sheridan let us do the talking & selecting of what we were looking for.

WORTH THE TRIP 100%

Browning 1919's are fun. ADCO brings them out every now and again. Takes a LONG TIME to press that much 30-06!!

Hey Rev,

I don't post often, more of an observer. I figured sense the Silencer part of the forum is pretty new, just like the law I would provide the review in both.

I'm sure more then just a few noobs have stumbled upon the site in search of information (including reviews) on silencers.

Plus I think everyone would agree there was no harm done here.

Just trying to share a great experience with as many of the members of this forum & all the people out there that scan our great forum here.

Sorry if I upset you & yes I read the rules, but I never said I understood them.

My Wife and I stopped in to the store back in July.
We did not have any previous experiece with handguns.
The the crew at Sheridan Arms took their time and explained a lot of different options to us.
We appreciated the extra attention to detail.
We shopped other stores in the area, but ended up coming back to Sheridan Arms because of their great customer service.
We eventually bought a pair of Glock 23's, and are very happy with our handgun purchase.

I only saw the post in THIS forum and would have missed it otherwise. Glad you posted it here.

Methinks a polite PM to a new guy would have been a better reminder of the rules than a sarcastic full blown rule posting. But that's just me. I'm in a forgiving mood lately.

Sheridan is a HORRIBLE shop. If you thought they treated you well, you are in the minority.

I will never step foot in Sheridan again. I cannot say enough disparaging things about them, and their complete lack of customer service.

BUT, if they treated you better than a shop down your way, then you REALLY need to check out William's Gun Shop in Auburn, MI. And please let me know what shop was down your way, so I can never go, lol.

They have WONDERFUL customer service, don't charge to help fill out your Form 4, can do layaway on Class 3 items, have a great selection, etc.
They stock AAC and SilencerCo, and can get any Class 3 item you want.

Their prices are SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than Sheridan, as well.

Plus, you don't have to deal with a shop that gets robbed frequently enough that they have to buzz you in the door.

I redacted my last statement because of a recent experience. I have been shopping at Phil's place since 2006. I recently went in to purchase nfa material and they were extremely pushy and I didn't commit because of this. I was quoted from a business in Shelby Township a cheaper price, and I told them, if they came close, they would get my business. They huffed and puffed and finally came to an agreement. Well I had cash in hand, but no time to get down there. They kept giving me ultimatums, and we're VERY pushy again, so I went to Shelby Twp. and saw my boy Eddie. He hooked me up with better customer service and prices without the huff and puff. Williams is also a great shop with awesome prices; for the tri-cities. I will never talk bad about Williams of Auburn. They are a phenomenal shop and they hooked me up with my M&P9 and holster for like 10 bucks more than a range kit since they were out of them. Kevin is a great guy, and his staff is unmatched. Unfortunately I will no longer be shopping at Sheridan anymore.
