To get started with your tech license, two good resources for finding a local class, in addition to the one in the previous post would be;
www.arrl.org (http://www.arrl.org/)
www.qrz.com (http://www.qrz.com/)
Also you can study online and take practice tests then, when you are ready you can find a local testing session and go for it. Many times a local ham swap will host a testing session at the swap.
The tech level is easy it's mostly regulations & rules to study up on.

KB6NU (http://kb6nu.com) does one day tech classes at the Ann Arbor Hands-on Museum.

Highly recommended.

Not to jack the thread, but,
Is KB6NU a member here?

Lots of good info at his website!

You can take practice test online then just look at arrl for a test date... Takes about an hour. QRZ.com (http://qrz.com) has the practice test.
