I am starting to think about getting a suppressor for my 1911 because I do have some hearing issues and would like to try and save my ears for as long as possible, but before I drop that kind of coin into it I'd really like try one. Anyone in the livonia area have one that might be willing to meet at a local range so I can put a couple rounds through it?

Quality ear protection is a much better barrier than a supressor if sound is all you are trying to reduce.

The only two suppressors in .45 I would consider are the AAC Ti-Rant and the Silencerco Osprey .45.

They are the ones on the market that are at or below the 140dB mark.

If you would like to come to one of the black swamp carbine shoots (http://scscmaster.powweb.com/events/black-swamp-carbine/) one month, I'll be happy to let you play with any of my gear. Just bring some ammo. I have an Osprey .45 with a choice of hosts: Glock 21, HK USP 45 and Kriss Super V in the short barrel rifle flavor. Just let me know in advance, since I don't bring every toy to the shoots every month.

Ditto, on what RJ said. Tirant or Osprey
I demo with the AAC Tirant, dry it is hearing safe, and wet it is stupid quiet.

I will be doing a private suppressor demo/run-n-gun course for a small group in Brighton during Feburary, I can probably schedule to meet you somewhere and do a quick demo for you, while I am out that way. PM me.

Also, I just put up a few more videos on my youtube channel, the one below is a Sig 1911 TacOp sporting the Osprey
(of course video is nothing like being there)

Here's a customer with his new Osprey 45 :-)

Cool Thanks Mike, I know I am going to need to save up a good amount of money before I can buy on cause I am looking at around 800-1000 dollars to get the suppressor and the stamp too.
