Joseph McRoberts is my class 3 dealer. we have paired up to offer a full range of services. This man can give you the in`s and outs of the MI. class 3 does and don`ts. And I handle all the machining and smithing to make it happen.

Call him at 810-444-2982, he has plenty of stock and intel to pass on. And is local to my shop so joint meetings and test firing the finished product is as enjoyable as it can get!

yes, requires one $200 "tax stamp" each, even assuming they're both on one gun

you need to be a class III manufacturer or buy a pre-86 registered, transferable M-16 (big bucks)... otherwise forget it or plan on federal prison time

As long as the auto sear was registered before 1986 yes. However, you're not going to find them for a song and dance either.

Any full auto gun registered before 1986 can be owned in Mi. with the right paperwork and fee's.

The only two ways to legally make your semi-AR f/a are: buying a registered drop-in auto sear (price range $12K -$15K when you can find them) and a Lightning Link (range $5,500 - $8,000, again when you can find them). The LL was designed for the Colt SP1 but can be made to function in an AR. Be very wary of any DIAS listed well below market. They likely do not have the provenance to prove when they were manufactured. If in doubt the burden is upon you to prove when it was made and that it was indeed registered with BATFE.

As noted above, Joe is a good guy.

It is legal to purchase a machine gun and suppressor in MI. As others have pointed out, you can purchase a RDIAS (registered drop in auto sear) or LL (lightening link). The RDIAS is the preferred conversion device. You can also purchase a registered receiver and then put a shorter upper or whatever on it.

There is no such thing as a class III manufacturer.
