spooked 4 anterless deer going to stand... saw one 4pt (non-shooter) about 100 yards away as he woke up... Good start so far as I saw no bucks last year at all!

Non shooter. Not enough meat on those antlers is there?

This is what we have seen while scouting the last 2 weeks. Mind you this was all in one of our hay fields almost everynight. For the record Uhh Uh no way!!!
12 Doe, 4 young fawns a 5th that is a button buck, A large about 8 inch spike, a 3 point, a 4 point and there were five 8 points but now there are 4 my brother took the smaller genetically challenged one. Hopefully things will remain quiet for awhile longer.

My son and I both whacked 7 points opening morning. I passed on two more smaller bucks opening day that were broadside within 15 yards. One of them got arrowed by somebody else (but unrecovered the last I knew). I haven't been out since and now it is nearly time to start killing ducks so....

Were you on State land or private ground?

My Son Justin got his first deer Saturday in Mio. It was a five point I wasnt there to witness it myself :( but I can take pride in something else!
Teaching him how to hunt and to Not listen to others when they say "you cant". Nice shot he said he DBL lunged it and it dropped dead about 80 yards away which happened to be 10 yards in front of his step dad.Whom by the way told him " you wont kill a deer unless you are able to shoot a 3 inch group at 30 yards".

I'm heading to the U.P. the week of the 13th. My friend owns a forty That's surrounded by Mead Paper. Hasn't been very many Deer up there the last few years but it'll be nice to get up there for a week, two days of Bow and the opener for Rifle, can't wait.

Obviously, somebody was FOS. I know lots of guys that couldn't even shoot a three inch group off hand with a ******* rifle much less a bow.

Good for the kid. The first is always a great memory maker. There is nothing quite like whacking one with a bow....it is a great feeling for sure.
