Hey guys, looking at a few gun safes. So far it's between two off of amazon, as the local wal-mart doesn't have any safes. If you have any other suggestions, they would have to be around 50-60 dollars, as that's all I can spend right now. Soon as I get the money, I plan on buying a big safe for long guns (Once I get long guns >:( ). What do you guys think? Links below

Thanks for your input!!

I found a nice used safe on craigslist. It was from the 80's, fire rated, and very heavy. It still holds my pistols! It was my first safe when I didn't have much coin to buy one.

I picked up one of these at Bass Pro Shop last week. It isn't the highest quality in the world, but it does the job. I have been waiting to find an electronic closet safe for around $50-$70, and was happy to find this one. I hope this helps.

Sorry, but the site won't let me post a link cause I'm a noob. You'll have to cut & paste:

Don't know where you are, but Aldi's in Holland has a pretty decent one for $49.00 or Miejer's has the Gunvault one you lay your fingers on for $89.00. I think I paid $150.00 For the same one a few years back.

These are good alternatives if you don't necessarily fear of a burglary who is goin to bust in and steal your stuff (he's gonna go right for your safe and bust it open anyway) I love these and get alot of use out of them, range carry etc.

Harbor Freight usually has a selection of safes at reasonable prices.

Kind of an old thread but, I have one of these and it is very nice. I highly recommend it. Not fire rated, but nice just the same.

I actually bought one of those biometric type safes. When it reads it is sweet. I think I just need more "practice" with it....sort of funny to have to practice opening a safe but if I ever need to do it in the middle of the night I sure hope I can get it done quickly.

This may be inadequate for your purposes, but Dunham's has this one on sale for $20 this week. I suspect it's worth all of that twenty dollars.

What do you have that bolted to? Just curious I have hardwood floors I don't really want to drill into but I guess if I do it in my closet and sell my house and leave it that could be a bonus.
