Time to reserve your opportunity to represent Michigan Gun Owners at the Ultimate Sports Show in Grand Rapids. Sign up for one or more time slots and get into the show for free that day.

We’re looking for help from some of our new affiliate clubs on the west side of the state , so come on out and help us get the word out about Michigan Gun Owners.

Sign up in this thread so we know what time you will be working. We'll need three workers for each time slot.

Curious how this works. Do I just show up at the main entrances, and show them my membership card? Then they let me in and head to our booth?

There is a vendor check in (will call) where you check in. You would be on that list, and would be issued a badge, and be given directions to our booth. Usually, you would have to pay for parking unless someone can get you one of the coveted parking passes prior to your arrival. We have a "booth instructional video" on the forum to give you the basic talking points about MGO. Other than that, just be yourself and tell people why you hang out at MGO.

If you come work a four hour shift. You will get 1 entry into the gun of the year. Last year the gun was a Kimber 1911.

Or you can get a payed membership for a year. So for all you non paid members this is an easy way to upgrade. Also if any one would like to come out Friday with me and SeeTee I can fit one more in my van.

Really only 6 MGO guy's on the westside of the state?

4 guys already coming across the state from SE MI to work the show, and nobody closer is willing to help out?

Nobody else able to help on Friday and pack up on Sunday?

I really wish I could help more, and help tear down, but I'm working clear down in Kentucky right now, and am already taking a day off work to drive home for this... I leave back out for work sunday in the A.M.

I can't beleive there is not more willing people out there...

Right2bear, thank you for your help, believe us, we know what effort it takes to step-up and work an event, MGO appreciates all who help out, no matter what size the effort big or small it all means a lot.

It should not be this hard to find MGO people on the west side of the state, I guess if there are more then the 6 already helping on the west side they must be chained to their computer and cannot get away.

Sometimes I think if we held a event in a member's backyard they would find an excuse not to be there.

Sorry for the rant.

wario... you might have me and Will-IB-Ready mixed up. I worked the morning shift with you... either way Will-IB-Ready was an awsome guy.

I ended up working all shifts yesterday and can't believe how much I enjoyed myself. I got to meet some great people.

wario, it was great chatting with you and finding that we both have a hankerin for a good SKS. I look forward to getting out and shooting with you.

Kilt Guy, thanks for being the senior in charge and taking the time to show this newbie the ropes. Your vast knowledge was extremely apprieciated, welcomed and for sure changed some anti's minds. Cool that you brung in some eye candy to drool over. And of course you did stir up plenty of attention with the skirrrrr er Kilt.:-D

Will-IB-Ready, another seasoned vet at the booth. Your a great guy, and do alot for us gun nuts. I really enjoyed getting to know you once it finally slowed down.

I sold a 1yr. membership, and a hat. We must of filled up around 20 sheets for the petition which was awsome.

SeeTee, I can't possibly thank you enough for the close up help. We had a great conversation, and although only via phone, I venture to say your a stand up guy.

Mopedman, Also can't say enough about our conversation.

Overall Next year I'll be signing up for the entire event.

Any of you west side guys that thought maybe you have to be a paying member or to nervous to be in the public eye... no need to worry it was a breeze and really fun to tell people why we love MGO, and by the sounds of it you could earn your paid membership by volunteering for a shift!

Good luck with the Sunday shift guys, wish I could be there:multi:
