No deer at our house yesterday. Pam sam a couple fat does but didn't have a safe shot. Jordan and I didn't see a thing.

Tons of deer sign on our property, more than we've seen in years and years. Lots of fresh scrapes. Just no deer to shoot at.

I was up in lake County, I saw 5 does opening morning but no Doe permit.
would have been nice to have a bit of snow,

My Pastor got a shot at a 6 point and missed, need to get some private land to hunt on.

Jordan and I hunted this morning and until dark tonight. Didn't see a thing. Jordo heard a buck grunting down the fence row but he never stepped out.

Tomorrow, I'm taking to the trees :) I've got a new ladder stand set up over a swamp but haven't hunted from it yet. Think I'll sit there in the morning.

Funny thing.... When we got up to Baldwin, we went to the local grocery store. and as I was paying my bill the cashier was complaining that he only got the 15th off, and I said at least you don't need to drive 3 1/2 hours to hunt, we'll he said he did needed to drive a few hours to get to where he was hunting south of Lansing.

The funny thing, we drive 3 1/2 hours to get up north and the guy living right there in Baldwin drives south two hours to hunt less than an hour from my house.

It was still a good time.

a Bad day of hunting is better than a good day at work.

Saw two today on top of a "Suburban," Eastbound on Metro Parkway/16 Mi Rd between Mound and Van Dyke. One was a 6 pt, (couldn't see one on drivers side,) and both covered 90% of the roof. Older couple, and during the mile I was next to them, I couldn't get their attention to get any details.

When I was up stationed up north (http://kisawyerafb.150m.com/), we had deer walking through the base all the time. Got worse during hunting season.

Had some close calls with deer on the roads so many times I can't count.

So now the base is closed. There's some serious woodland up there. The closest town was called Gwinn (http://www.gwinnmi.com/).
So, if you have the time to travel there, it probably wouldn't be too expensive to get a place to stay (http://redfoxinn.net/) and get out into the woods and find the herd.

I work in Farmington Hills. We have some real MONSTER bucks behind work. I dont mean just big im talking real trophies. Bigger than anything I have ever taken. They make an apperence from time to time. Had four does come all the way onto the blacktop parking lot next door a while back. To bad ya cant hunt there. But one of the guys at work picks up some nice sheds in the spring.

Haven't been here in a while, 14 months actually. Wanted to drop in and post a picture of my 2006 buck. I harvested this mature buck at 9:30 in the morning on November 19. This was on my property in eastern Missaukee County. While the gun looks like a slug gun the way it is laying, it is a Remington model four, .308 caliber.

The buck is a main frame 10 point, with a split left brow tine, giving him 11 points.

Bob you didnt use your ultimate. In 2005 I harvested 4 does with my Ultimate. Two on my brother's lease near Deckerville and two on my property on December 13, first time I ever shot two deer in the same day. I wasn't able to connect with the Ultimate last year.
