Well, after a lot of reading on this site and some research I went and bought a safe today. I ordered one from Able Safe in Warren. I was very impressed with their knowledge and service. I can't wait for my safe to arrive! If anyone is looking for a safe in the Oakland/Macomb area I would recommend a visit to their store.

Looking into safes lately just to learn the market. Makes me really pleased with the Ft Knox I bought 12 years ago. Damn thing holds its value and appreciates better than most guns.

Able Safe is great. It was awesome watching them get my 36 gun safe into the basement without damaging anything.

I agree. They delivered my 44 gun safe into the basement and didn't smash anything.

They also gave me and 2 friends FREE delivery for buying them at the same time. A $250 savings for each of us.

Good guys, id recommend them to anyone.

Those of you that had your safe put into the basement.
How tight was it. meaning the space they had to monuver.

If I was to buy another safe, I would paint the interior an off white or robin's egg blue and install some lights and a dehumidifying rod. JMHO.

probably 4-5" on each side going down, but they need room to tip it back on the dolly at the top of the stairs.
