View Full Version : 1st walleyes of the jigging season

Putz around the Trenton channel and hooked into 4 walleye (brought home 3 17"ers) on a plain jighead and a brown rubber worm. Water temp was 40 degrees and it was quite foggy.

Should be heating up real soon:lolup:

I like the smaller wallys (sugar sticks) for eating and will release the big mama's...i find the smaller 1's taste better and the filets are firmer



The long range forecast in the 70's should heat the river up quite nice with limits to be had

Your lucky with the 13" and 7 fish year round season. I miss that.

Here it's 15", 6 fish and the season closes for spawning.

idkwtfyata.......its 15" and 6 fish ...Canada, no size limit

Lacque Sainte Claire was the 13" one in the last millenium I fished there

I can't get over to that side of the state until the 3rd week of april....gonna miss the walleye run this year.
