I am looking for a concealable safe that is approx 18" tall and 24" x 24" which isn't impossible to find so I am not overly worried, however here is the question..

I need it to lay flat and open upwards.. is there any reason why this cannot work? Similar to a bench box..

I assume there is no flaw in storing a safe that way but I figured I better ask before actually taking action..

What are your thoughts?

The locations on the sides for storage become useless, if the safe is so equipped, and you may have to secure or remove any storage shelves.

Or you could go with something like this...

Yeah the bed safe is pretty close to exactly what I am looking for..

The idea I am going for is a corner space in a built in cabinet bench

Give Ft. Knox Safe a call. I have heard good things about them working with customers to make them happy.
