PJ Holster

I just ordered my second PJ holster. I bought my first one based off of rave reviews on glocktalk.com. I was initially hesitant to order an all kydex holster. I thought it would wear worse on my firearm than an all leather holster. I have not found that to be true at all. I like the all kydex for a couople of reasons. I like that the kydex is easier to clean. I like that it doesn't "shed" for lack of a better term. I don't get fuzz all over my trigger like I do in my leather holster. I like that locks in place, but draws smooth when it breaks free. I like that the holster doesn't get pinched IWB like leather and gives a consistent draw.

My first PJ holster was for my Glock 19. It replaced my Don Hume leather IWB holster. I also have a Shielded Holster (copy of the crossbreed) and a Glock sport/combat OWB holster. I loved the PJ holster for the Glock. It's small enough that it's comfortable, it holds the gun tight to my body so it doesn't print too bad, and it's easy to remove or put back on.

I ordered my Shield holster before I even had the gun. Nothing worse than having a gun that you can't carry because you don't have a holster. The first copy arrived and I honestly wasn't thrilled with it. There was a little gap between the trigger guard. It made me a little nervous. I sent Paul (from PJ holster) an email and he immediately said he'd send me another one. After a couple of days with the first holster, I realized that the rear sights were stabbing me (unlike Glock sights they are all the way to the rear of the slide and have sharp edges). I sent him an email telling him about it, and he said he'd see what he could do. I got the second holster today and couldn't be happier. It fits great around the trigger guard and there is a piece of kydex wrapped around the rear sights to keep them from digging into my gut.

I'm very impressed with the quality of the holster for what I paid for it and the customer service is second to none. I'll be ordering a holster from him for every firearm I purchase for the foreseeable future.

I've read lots of great things about the Raven holsters too. Due to my ADHD with my handguns, I'm a little leary about ordering one from them. I don't keep many guns as long as it takes for them to ship. I'd hate to spend $75+ on a holster and have the gun sold by the time the holster gets here. Some day I may order one to see what all the fuss is all about.

I have had both a Raven and a PJ holster. Both are excellent holsters. My Raven is for my G27 and my go to rig. The PJ was for the CM9 that I had. That thing was mega comfy and it totally disappeared while wearing it. I would recommend one to anybody looking for an affordable, quality IWB holster.

As far as the Raven's wait time, I would check to see if they are going to be at a show near you and see if they will be setup there and making holsters on a first come first served basis. That's how I got mine down here in Indy and my lead time was only about 2.5 hours. :)

Our gear for the guns you posted pictures of is on our Quick-Ship program, which ships in 30 days or less. Most ship within a week or so.

I guess I should update this thread.

I sold the Shield. I bought a Sig P226, P6, and a P229. I ordered PJholsters for the P6 and P229 and magazine carriers for both. I traded the P229 for a Glock 26. As much as I love the Sigs, the Glocks are just too much easier to carry. They weigh about half as much as the Sigs.

I ordered a Raven Phantom for my P226. I was really impressed with the quality of the holster. It took 17 weeks (I was quoted 16-18 weeks when I ordered it). With that being said, it just wasn't for me. I couldn't get it to ride right. To be fair, this was my first attempt at OWB carry. The combination of the ride height, my big belly, and the size of the gun made concealing impossible. I sent it back and Raven was great about refunding the purchase price. The holster didn't work for me, but I don't regret trying it.

I also ordered a VanGuard 2. This little gem is amazing. I ordered it for my Glock 19 (who doesn't like having holster options?) not knowing that I was going to get a Glock 26. Well, after getting home with the 26 I strapped the VG2 on. I've been carrying my G26 in my VG2 for about 16 hours per day since. I check from time to time to see if it's still on my side. The VG2 has been on and worked with my 17, 19, and 26. We also tried it on my friends duty 21SF and it worked great on that too.

It's been a couple of years. Time for an update.

I just received another holster. I believe this is the third (maybe fourth) holster Paul has sent me for my Glock 19. The previous holsters all broke in the belt clip. Paul has replaced them all with no questions asked. My newest holster has a reinforced belt clip...which will likely eliminate the weak point.

I've tried several guns and even more holsters. I keep going back to my Glock 19 and my PJ Holster.

The magazine carrier works very well too. It's super fast to put on or take off.

i have had a ton of custom leather holsters over the years. i switched to kydex a long time ago.

all of my owb rigs are raven phantoms.
all of my iwb rigs are pj holster. currently i have a 30deg "ultra top secret " iwb for my g19.
a 15deg for my g17, and 15deg and 30deg for my shield.

he ONLY sells the reinforced loop/hook now on all holsters. imo they are the best iwb you can buy and i have tried a ton.

the 30deg for the g19 really makes it disappear. a little tougher to get a grip on but hides really good in the summer
