I would like to maybe try my hands at hunting so I just picked up a 12ga shotgun to try hunting as well as maybe skeet and trap down the road. Either way I am a cpl holder and I know I have to buy a hunting licence for what ever I decide to try to hunt. What I want to know are there any other things that I need to do before applying for a hunting licence. By that I mean like hunter safety course required etc...

Yes....Depending on your age, you will need a Hunters Ed certificate. If you were born before Jan 1, 1960, you don't NEED it in Michigan, but you should take the course any way.

Go to the DNR website, they have lists of available classes by county

I believe by the DNR rules $10.00 is the absolute max that they can charge. I know that my club only charges $7.00 to cover the costs of materials and utilities of the building.
