View Full Version : MACHINE GUN PARTY

This is just an idea. I wanted to put this idea out there and see what kind of feed back I get. Maybe I can offer a machine gun party if I get enough interest shown.

I thought it would be a fun idea to offer my machine guns for rent to a party of no more than 5 people. I'd probably charge $100 per hour, per machine gun. So, for example, if a party of 5 people wanted to shoot an MP5 and an M-16 for an hour that would amount to $200 an hour, so $40 per person. We can also work out a deal with ammo.

I'm very open minded to ideas and suggestions. The shoot would more than likely be at the pit in Lapeer.

All feedback is appreciated.

THANKS !

Chewy usually does a couple per year but hasn't lately...he charges per magazine shot I believe...

Well, say you wanted 2 machine guns for an hour. That is $200 an hour but divide that up by 5 people and it's $40 an hour. Target sports in Royal Oak charges $50 for a half our plus $15 an hour for range time and that is to shoot one gun at an indoor range, for just one person.

Also, I'm looking to make a couple bucks on this, so the time booked would have to be worth the time it takes for me to drive to and back from the range, the time it takes for me to clean the guns after they are used and the actual time I spend at the range with the party.

Keep in mind, that machine guns are not toys that just anyone can get there hands on anytime they like, so this adds value to my service. I'm the only one in Michigan who is offering this service right know as far as I know. $100 per gun, per hour is fair for right now unless I think of some other costs.

This is just an idea for right now.

Hell, I'd pay $100 for an hours worth of instruction and trigger time on shooting an M16.

Lapeer is a bit too far though.

Price don't seem bad to me. I was at a shoot in ohio last weekend and rented a mp5 for $ 15 a mag, a h&k g36 for $ 30 a mag and a 1919 100 rounds for $ 50 the only thing I would see as a problem would be the ammo cost of shooting a full auto for an hour.

An hour goes buy quick if you get proper instruction on the firearm, load mags and take your time to learn.
If you're there to just have fun an hour may be too much.

3 levels might work.

1 hour with instruction
30 minutes of fun
per mag fun

Yea, I am pretty sure mini knows this since he has a FA...

Like mentioned above, Chewy does this as well and charged $20 per mag which included ammo. I am not saying your price is out of line but you are not the only one.

$20 a mag isn't a bad idea either. Till now I didnt know of anyone else offering this idea.

The issue is what if a guy decides to see how many mags he can fire in an hour. You better have rules or the $200 will not pay for 2 melted barrels.

Well I won't allow anyone to abuse my guns or be wreckless with them. I want people to have fun but machine guns are expensive so I won't waste a trip for just a one hour, one gun rental. I'm setting a 1000 round minimum buy in. That's not bad considering 9mm is only about $200 for 1000 rounds and that's split between 5 people. Let's face it, I wanna make this a fun and affordable deal but it can only be so cheap before I start loseing $.
So five guys chip in on 1000 rounds of ammo, then its splitting the cost of each gun per hour. $100 a gun per hour is $20 per person/per hour +$40 per person for the 1000 round buy in (9mm). It ain't cheap, but its affordable. Nothing about machine guns has ever been cheap.

Machine guns for a SOT holder are relatively cheap. Usually on par with semi auto counter parts (*or cheaper).

+1, and if you attend any of the Machine Gun shoots at the pit, the guys there all allow you to shoot for just the price of the ammo. They are out there to have fun and spread the knowledge, the ammo costs cover there time and efforts.

$6,500 for an M249 SAW is not chum change lol. Eeven if its just a $1,500 MP5, its still $1,500. I'm trying to share my cool toys, make up the cost of buying them and make a living at the same time. Maybe if two guns are rented instead of just one I can do $75 instead of $100. Rent more guns get better prices, same with ammo. I'm willing to negotiate the prices when you call to book a shoot ;)

Do you actually have a 249? Perhaps a list of what could be 'rented' for these parties would make them more enticing. I'd love to shoot a SAW and for that the hourly rates you have is a good deal.

You make a very valid point. I do have a demo letter for a SAW but I have to make the cash to be able to afford one lol. As interest grows we can buy more EXOTIC toys. To start with we've got a couple MP5's, Tommy gun, G36C, Glock 18, 1919, M-16 etc (off the top of my head). I'm willing to work out deals. Like I said, if I get enough of an interest going, maybe we can get some more exotic toys. I'm always willing to work out a deal tho. This post was intended to help me figure out how to go about marketing this idea and I appreciate all your input.

I watch slickdeals.com a lot. every now and again ammo deals pop up. I think the best i ever got was $180 for 1000 cci aluminum case. brass cased was $200. It doesn't happen often, but it's worth checking every now and again just in case.

So I've listened to everyones input and I have gone ahead and started advertising this idea. You can check the deatail out on my web site. The page has some errors on it but they will be fixed tomorrow. This info just went up today so forgive the errors.
I'll probably start a new thread on this and call it "PART 2" lol

Keep in mind, pointing a gun at someone is Felonious Assault and may result in someone else ending that threat.

It's my own hand dude. Relax. It's not like you or anyone got flagged. I've been drawing my own pistol for a while now, I havent shot my self yet LOL.
Chill out. I'm allowed a little help from my "off hand" from a sticky holster.
Now go bother someone else. Show an ounce of maturity.
