When I go to a casino, I know weapons are prohibited. I usually dis-arm somewhere close to the casino, & put it in a lock box under the seat.
I always use the valet. Are there any legal problems doing this?
Just wondering what you guys do in a similar situation. I refuse to hit the city limits of Detroit un-armed.

Think this one thru. Don't use the valet. Park yourself unless you're comfortable with losing anything you leave in your car, even if you think it's bolted in. Not to mention it's probably your insurance that will be tapped to pay for anything lost not the valet company. As for the legal part, don't know but if you don't use a valet problem solved :brow:

I use the valet no problem. Don't overthink it.

When and how do you deal with the firearm?

Correct me if I'm wrong shyster, but as I recall in order for the driver to have "possession" of the firearm, he has to be made aware of its presence.

I am basing this statement off the assumption that you are locking it in the car, and letting the valet park your car with it in it with fears of the valley unknowingly committing a crime.

I've never had a problem, or even gave it much thought before today. Plus I'm sure most casino employees are bonded in some way, no?
I will always use the valet. Walking in a parking lot at night, downtown, unarmed, at my age, is not a good idea. Would make an easy target. Plus, my wife has physical problems that prevent her from walking long distances.

If it is in a lock box and the "driver" does not have the key, he is not in possession. If the valet decided to pry the box open, I wouldn't take responsibility of his unlawful actions.

All the more to use VP... I don't see a issue with locked firearm under the seat...Sence Casino's are CEZ...
Some have forgot about the older man that lived in OC and was followed home after winning at the Casino... He made it to his gated Community and was robbed......
