If you are mounting on a 14.5" bbl, I'd look at the mini or FA556-212. If you are asking about getting a SBR, by all means do it if you can. Here in MI, we are unable to get SBR/SBS.

A 14.5" SBR isn't worth the tax stamp, in my humble opinion. If you're going to SBR, go with an 11.5 or 12.5" barrel.

If you go 14.5" you can perm attach the Surefire flash hider and make the 16" The only pain in the ass is that you can't change your handguards and gas blocks as easily as you would without the pinned flash hider. So just make sure your configuration is what you want before you perm attach.
