The Annual Meeting of Michigan Gun Owners will be held on July 21, 2007 at Turtle Hill in Kensington Metro Park Milford, Michigan. It will be a picnic and fun time to start at 11:00 AM and last most of the day. We have some great prizes and are hoping to have a “special guest speaker” in attendance. There will be an opprotunity to join/renew membership at the picnic.

The Annual meeting will start at 2:00 PM and the members will vote on Executive Committee members and bylaws changes. If you are a contributing member and unable to attend, be sure to have your proxy vote counted.

We hope to see as many as possible at this meeting. This is “your” Organization and it needs “your” input to grow and support the ownership of firearms in Michigan.

if its the same site as last years Picnic, its the the Turtle Head Picnic area not Turtle Hill, you don't want folks looking for an area that doesn't exist

Just curious. Where are the restrooms/outhouses located in relation to our designated picnic area on Turtle Head? Us old farts have to concern ourselves about things like that.

Within a 100 yards.

Thanks. How far is parking from our actual picnic area? It's hard to tell looking at the map but it appears to be close. I'd like to ride my bike but I would also like to keep an eye on it.

Nick, parking is not far from the Site and there is an Access road that can get you real close if you need.

This site we had last year was Just breathtaking. I could have stayed there all day

You guys could always shoot first, and pre-arrange with Jack to have someone else work the pits for you if there's enough people, so you can leave early.

Maranatha
07-18-2007, 08:21 PM
no way Kay, last match I had to run two targets because two of the old timers said they couldn't work the pits. i won't do that to my fellow shooters

check you PM

Yeah. There will be three of us and that's asking too much. Working the pits is part of the deal.

And, watch that old-timer stuff!!!

I know... working the pits is truly half the fun! I love the competition between me in the pits and the shooter on the line.

I didn't say it, but hey, if the shoe fits.......

Thanks for the RAPID correction guys.

I should have clarified that word VOTING instead of attendance. Sorry.

I just saw that the person who posted they wouldn't be there was an ASSOCIATE MEMBER so it raised the question.

Happy Day! See you all Saturday!

I missed it last year because I was in NJ to see my friend open for Bon Jovi in their homecoming concert at Giant's Stadium. This year, I'm in a different state.....:(

Thanks Gary for cooking.

After my little mishap with with 20 pounds of charcoal, i don't think anyone would have trusted me with USDA approved meat. :)

It was a great time...perhaps next year more members will find time to visit.

21 voting members... not bad but that's out of 140+. It could be lots better. A few others also.

Next year I will ask G22 to borrow his fishing pole, then Austin and I are goin fishin. I put the worms on and he can do the fishin. Then Gary/Chris/Fotophocus will have some REAL food to grill!

Sounds good...we should have visited after MGO Kay.

Hey...someone else would have to do the "stoking" of the fire if I am around things that might catch fire. :)

KayL
07-22-2007, 07:30 PM
Okay... next year Chris and Gary can grill. UTPD will be assigned a fire extinguisher along with his lighter. G22 is in charge of all fishing poles. Nick takes official pictures. I bus the tables. Austin is official dog walker and cute kid.
But next year we bring dried food that can be reconstituted with water so we can ride the sickles, then go to Kouger's event after the meeting and listen to live bands and check out custom choppers. Whaddaysay?

I just learned that the Kensington Metroparks has recently had to start there own fire department. It is being reported that the charcoal grills have been getting out of hand...fact is, one at Turtlehead actually melted from sustained high heat.

Who'd of thunk it!

:yeahthat:

SMILES!
