So I received my Surefire X300 Ultra in the mail the other day from The LED Warehouse: http://www.the-led-warehouse.com/Surefire-X300-Ultra-Weapon-Light-p1743.html(as a side note, quick shipping and a fair price...still available as of this posting) and figured I would share some first impressions. DISCLAIMER: I am NO expert in lights or firearms, just someone who loves him some cool toys and likes quality products protecting myself and those I love.
My purpose for getting this light was to put it on my recent DGW/BCM AR build as I wanted something that could handle being on an AR, throw enough light to be usable at decent distances, and still be lightweight and compact as the balance on the rifle was perfect. I do believe I have found it with this light.
There were some that doubted my ordering a "pistol" light for my AR, but I can operate it with ease and it fits on my rifle perfectly.
This light feels nice and solid, everything fits together nicely and appears to be a quality product. The light that it emits does seem to be "less white" than my TLR-1 but a good amount brighter overall. This light does tend to have more spill, but without sacrificing throw. With that said, I have yet to test this at the range, or even at any long distances.
From what I have seen on the interior of my house, it does tend to have some blinding effect when shined on a bright colored wall in a "normal" sized room. With that said, I don't believe it is anything that is "too much" as far as still being usable within my house. I would hate to be on the other end of it though.
Those are my thoughts for now, I hope to get out to Lapeer and see what she does at night, while shooting, at a little bit of distance. Some pictures are below, for reference.

Some backyard "testing" in the rain tonight. Distance to the fence, around 7-8 yards. Sorry, taken with an iPhone 5 in the rain.
