door hangers

Anyone use the "door hanger" type storage units? The ones I have looked at have clips to hang over the top of the inside door liner. On my safe(GM Liberty) the metal door interior covers the top of the carpet lined indoor cover, so I can't use the clip type hangers.
Do the units that use big "safety pin" type hangers work? Support much weight, would probably use to store empty magazines.

I was just thinking about this question my self. I have a smaller gun safe 12-16 long guns and it has a metal backed door. I am looking for something to mount or hang my pistols from the door and still maintain my rifle storage area.

I've got a Big Horn safe, and added a door hanger. My door liner is held on with screws. I loosened them to get the hanger brakets over the liner and tightened the screws back up.
I'm guessing your safe has something similar to remove the interior door cover.

If your just wanting to store empty magazines, what about getting a velcro holder to stick right to the carpet. Mine came with one and it holds full magazines too.
